Our Managing Director, Yusuf Abubakar, has worked within the care sector, both residential and domiciliary, for over 14 years. 
 
Passionate about providing care services that are tailored to individual needs, he is fully committed to a person-centred approach to enable the people we care for to maintain the greatest level of independence as possible. 
 
His dedication to the business, the services it provides and his team is constant and he always has individuals' best interestes at heart, whether they be Clients, Service Users, their families or his staff. Yusuf sees his business as a way of life, not a 9 - 5 job, an ethos he fully embeds within Bosun Care.

Our Registered Manager, Gemma Herbert, has worked in the Care Sector in varying positions since 2001 and has extensive experience in providing high quality care to Service Users.  
Gemma's expertise lies in prioritising customer satisfaction through exemplary customer care and service. She excels in effectively managing and nurturing a proficient workforce, ensuring the consistent delivery of compliant and top-tier care services. 
 
Central to Gemma's ethos is the belief that every customer deserves tailored, high-quality care, coupled with exceptional staff. This commitment forms the cornerstone of her service provision and leadership. 
 
Gemma's dedication to ensuring outstanding care provision was acknowledged by the Great British Care Awards, where she was honoured as a finalist in 2019.  

Mairita Prosko 

Live-In Care Manager 
Care and Support West Award Winner 2022 
Our Live-In Care Manager, Mairita Prosko, has worked in the Care Sector in varying positions since 2009 and is responsible for providing all aspects of the day-to-day operation of Bosun Care's Live In Care services. 
Mairita has worked with younger adults, elderly people and end of life clients and supports people with dementia, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy, MND, mental health and MS. She enjoys improving clients’ daily lives and seeing the positive impact on them, their families and friends. 
 
Mairita is passionate about the quality of life people enjoy with live-in care and believes the relationship 
between clients and their live-in carer is unbeatable. She places immense value on finding the right care worker for each client - someone who becomes a companion, friend, even part of the family. 
 
Mairita is keen to educate people so they understand that live-in care is an option for them, no matter their age or circumstances. She looks to ensure every client 
has the best care choice available and is committed to finding ways to help clients achieve their goals safely while retaining their dignity and independence. 
 
Mairita's passion and dedication was honoured at the Care and Support West Annual Care Awards where she was the Live-In 8Care Manager winner in 2022. 

Shona Kirkpatrick Deputy Manager 

Our Deputy Manager, Shona Kirkpatrick, has worked within the Care Sector since 1998. 
She is committed to providing quality care and is responsible for delivering a high standard of training to both staff and carers. Amongst other things, Shona undertakes assessments and manages care plans and risk assessments and is very experienced in all aspects of Client care. 

Nickie Cole Administration Manager 

Our dedicated Administration Manager, Nickie Cole, has significant knowledge and experience within both the Care Sector and effective office management and ensures the business runs in an orderly and efficient manner. Nickie is passionate about providing a quality service and is key to maintaining up to date policies and procedures which ensures the business remains a safe, secure and reliable operation and meets it's governance and compliance responsibilities.  

Cynthia Fabiola Talla Administration Assistant 

With over 7 years experience in the Care Sector, Cynthia is dedicated to caring for others. She is a very proactive member of the Administration team and is heavily involved in the recruitment and induction processes. Cynthia's problem solving and organisational skills assist with the smooth running of the office.
