The challenges of running a care company

Yusuf explains what supported living care is and passionately believes it is a very undervalued specialist service. The cheapest option isn't always the best. Experience, knowledge and specialism is critical to the safety of everyone.
Yusuf discusses the significant investment required in providing and preparing appropriate accommodation for new clients and in staff training to ensure the right person is assigned to the right client.
One of the biggest challenges is helping local authorities to understand what is involved in supported living and why more joined up thinking can help reduce delays in organising care. The unfortunate lack of availability and resources within local councils means lengthy response times and a lack of staff continuity meaning that urgent situations often take longer than needed to resolve. The need to opt for the cheapest provider means that the best outcomes for the client aren't always realised, and the impact upon his business, the clients and community it serves can be significant.
